Incident Summary:

05/17/2020: An assailant armed with a shotgun threatened to ram his vehicle into the gate of a Coast Guard base in Essexville, Michigan, United States. The assailant, identified as Jesse T. McFadden, was unable to gain access to the base and drove away. Police later arrested McFadden at a nearby gas station. In a call to police dispatchers earlier in the day, McFadden indicated that he wanted to attack a both a police station and Standish hospital where he intended to "disrupt the power to the hospital, unlock the doors, and release patients under COVID-19 quarantine." Authorities believed that he attempted to steal the helicopter to aid in his attack on the police station and hospital.
