05/28/2020: Assailants attacked Macomia town, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. At least 97 people, including 78 assailants, were killed in the ensuing clash and occupation of the town, which lasted until March 30. The Central Africa Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident. Sources also attributed the attack to Ansar al-Sunna (Mozambique).
