Incident Summary:
05/31/2020: An assailant threw an incendiary device through the window of the East Valley Republican Women Federated (EVRWF) office in La Quinta, California, United States. There were no reported casualties in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities arrested Carlos Espriu in connection with the incident and noted that he wrote “I wanna go burn sh** n get hit with tear gas" on social media three days prior to the attack.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
