06/29/2020: Assailants shot and killed Hachalu Hundessa, a prominent Oromo musician and civil rights activist, in Akaki, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Authorities arrested two suspects in connection to the attack and they confessed to carrying out the attack under the orders of the Oromo Liberation Front. The OLF leadership later denied responsibility for the incident.
