Incident Summary:

07/21/2020: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at a joint Afghan National Army (ANA) and national police base along a highway in Nahri Saraj district, Helmand, Afghanistan. Following the blast, assailants then opened fire on the base. In addition to the bomber, at least two soldiers and officers and three other assailants were killed and 14 other people, including six security personnel and eight assailants, were injured in the attack. This was one of two similar attacks in Helmand on the same day. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incidents.
