Incident Summary:

07/29/2020: Assailants detonated an explosive device and opened fire on Assam Rifles members in Khongtal, Manipur, India. At least three soldiers were killed and five others were wounded in the attack. The United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), Manipur Naga People's Army (MNPA), and Coordination Committee (CORCOM) jointly claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that the attack was carried out for the "independence struggle against Indian colonization and expansionism."
