08/21/2020: Assailants attacked Nhonge island in Nhonge, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. At least seven people were beheaded and 20 other people were abducted and their whereabouts are unknown. The Central Africa Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources also attributed the incident to Ansar al-Sunna (Mozambique).
