Incident Summary:

09/01/2020: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle targeting the headquarters of the Public Protection Force in Gardez district, Paktia, Afghanistan. Following the initial blast, two suicide bombers attempted to enter the building but were shot and killed by security forces. In addition to the assailants, three Pubic Protection Force members were killed and eight others were injured in the attack. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for operations against the group.
