09/09/2020: Assailants attacked civilians and set fire to houses on Vamisse Island, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. This was one of two attacks on islands on the same date. There were no reported casualties. No group claimed responsibility for the attack; however, sources attributed the attack to Muslim extremists.
