09/12/2020: Assailants opened fire on two cargo trucks transporting passengers in Pundanhar, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. At least two people were killed and an unknown number of others were wounded in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Muslim extremists.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
