10/01/2020: Assailants attacked and killed Dhaniram, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, suspected to be a police informant in Bardela, Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, India. This was one of two similar attacks in this district on the same date. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Maoists.
