10/19/2020: Security forces intercepted an assailant planting an explosive device along a road near Mahdia, Kirkuk, Iraq. The assailant was killed in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attempted attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and stated that the device was intended to target a security convoy.
