11/13/2020: An explosive device planted along a road detonated targeting security forces responding to a previous incident in Shor Tepa district, Balkh, Afghanistan. At least three security personnel, including Border Forces commander Naeem Paikar, were killed in the blast. This was one of two related incidents in Shor Tepa district on this day. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
