12/10/2020: Assailants opened fire on the vehicle of a local journalist in Jalalabad, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. The journalist and her driver were killed in the attack. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident and stated it was because the target was a "pro-government reporter". Sources also noted that this attack may be part of a larger trend of violence against journalists.
