Incident Summary:
12/30/2020: Security forces intercepted an explosives-laden drone targeting the Mashiq (Maasheq) Palace, a residence for Yemeni cabinet members, in Aden City, Adan Governorate, Yemen. This was one of two related incidents. The targeted officials included the Yemeni Prime Minister and the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen. There were no reported casualties. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspect the involvement of Houthi extremists (Ansar Allah). Additionally, sources noted that the targeted officials were newly elected as part of a peace agreement in early December 2020.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims. Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
