On Tuesday, October 11, the University of Maryland is welcoming to campus U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Governor of the State of Maryland Martin O'Malley for a forum on Homeland Security in a Post 9/11 World. START Director Gary LaFree will serve as moderator of this hour-long discussion between two of the country'sleading public officials, which will focus on the nature of Federal-state partnerships in homeland security efforts. Specific topics to be discussed by Secretary Napolitano and Governor O'Malley include:
- Partnerships and Information Sharing
- Countering Violent Extremism
- Resilience
