Dr. Thomas Guarrieri has been named as START’s new Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies. In this newly created role, he will oversee and ensure the successful implementation of START’s undergraduate and graduate curricular education programs. Guarrieri will continue to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
Guarrieri joined START as a researcher for the Unconventional Weapons and Technology portfolio in 2017 and accepted the role of Director of Undergraduate Studies in 2019. He began teaching in START’s graduate program in Spring 2023.
“Tom has excelled in his leadership of START’s undergraduate minor and been a successful instructor and mentor in our graduate program,” said Amy Pate, START’s Acting Director. “I’m thrilled he has accepted this new role.”
“These programs have an amazing selection of innovative courses, excellent faculty, and focus on educating a diverse community of students and professionals, and I’m really excited to be entering this new role,” Guarrieri said.
Guarrieri holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Missouri and a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Rutgers University.
