The START Undergraduate Research Program is designed to engage talented undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the social and behavioral sciences in research related to understanding origins and/or responses to terrorism. START Undergraduate Researchers participate actively in one of the ongoing research projects sponsored by START. They also conduct original research related to START's research agenda and present their research findings at the 2008 START Annual Meeting. Undergraduate Researchers receive a $3000 stipend and costs for Annual Meeting attendance.

All participants for 2007-08 will also attend a URP orientation in August 2007 in College Park MD, with travel costs covered by START. NOTE: Undergraduate Researchers must be nominated by a current START investigator. (Click here for a list of START investigators.) Nomination deadline: April 1, 2007.

Questions about these programs should be directed to Katherine Worboys, START Assistant Director for Education, kworboys@start.umd.edu.
