Biography:

Sheehan Kane is the Program Manager for the Terrorism and Targeted Violence (T2V) in the United States database. Previously she managed a research portfolio focusing on domestic radicalization and disengagement at START, where she oversaw a suite of datasets focusing on the perpetrators of ideologically-motivated violence in the United States. Sheehan has also worked on START's Global Terrorism Database (GTD), where she managed the perpetrator identification team and served as the data collection manager. She holds an M.A. in Middle East Studies from the American University in Cairo and a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from Elon University. Before joining START in 2014, Sheehan lived in Cairo, Egypt, where she studied Arabic and pursued her Master’s degree.
